Break up night will be brought forward to next week December 2, AGM followed by Partner Chess. BYO drinks, cake, nuts
2010 commencement date January 20th.
November 18. For this "Social" night a 6 player Round Robin of 15 minutes per player per game was arranged. Brodie McClymont won with a picket fence. One game was recorded and as black commented after the game "the wall fell"

November 11. Rd7.Tony Weller ended Brodie McClymont's unbeaten run but Brodie took 1st place as Club Champion with 5.5/7, half a point better than his 2008 "Joint Champion " Score. Matt Gilpin was best U 1500 with 5/7 and P-J Bargo Best Junior with 1.5/7
In the game Farmilo vs Cashman the players played with the wrong colour causing slight confusion when comparing games Database scores with game results report and delaying this report. Colours played are shown in games and results section

November 4. Rd 6 of the 2009 Club Championship. Brodie McClymont won against Mark Stokes( not Tony Weller as forecast as Tony was away this week, his chance again next week!), Craig Stewart(-256) continued to be the upset man this time a draw against Michael Cashman.

October 28. Rd.5 of the 2009 Club Championship. Another win by Brodie McClymont sees him lead with 4.5/5, upsets by Craig Stewart(-374) against Tony Truscott and Tony McRoberts(-525) against Micahel Szabo.
Next week Tony Weller should get his chance to halt Brodie's run.

October 21. Rd. 4 of the 2009 Club Championship. Brodie McClymont won the top of the table clash against Tony Truscott, Jacob Farmilo(-139)scored upset win against Mark Stokes to take 2nd place. 12 of the 15 entrants were present tonight!.

October 7. Tonight saw the return of former junior Jacob Farmilo. 5 games in the Redcliffe Club Championship were played with one upset by Marc Stokes(-166) over Tony Weller

September 30. We welcomed the return of Matt Gilpin and visitor Craig Stewart, the 2009 Club championship started with 13 players. Rd.1 Upsets Matt Gilpin(-280)won against Michael Cashman and Craig Stewart(-306) drew with Brodie McClymont. There were 2 byes and we are aware of some future byes due work commitments, but hopefully we will get the scheduled 7 rounds.

July 29. Unavoidable absences over three weeks finaly dealt a blow with some players being unable to be paired in rd.6 reducing the 2009 Mike Dyer Memorial to 5 rounds. Brodie McClymont won 4/5 form Tony Truscott and Mark Stokes 3/5. Results at Current Tournament
July 22.7 players tonight with one sick from the flue(hope it is not the swine variety).The game between Tony Truscott and Brodie McClymont saw Tony suffer the "guillotine" in an "equal" position. Round 4 saw Michael Szabo(-348) get an upset win against Brodie.

July 15. 8 players registered for the 2009 Mike Dyer Memorial(30 minutes, guillotine finish) but with 4 players missing for rounds 1 & 2 the top 4 seeds played with Brodie McClymont 2/2 leading from Tony Truscott and Michael Cashman(1/2)

July 8. 6 players(2 at work) with top half versus bottom half in each round results were predictable. Tony Truscott won (5/6) from Brodie McClymont and Mark Stokes (4/6). Next week we start the Mike Dyer Memorial 30 minute guillotine finish.

Tony Truscott was involved in two unusual games, Rd 3 against Brodie McClymont , Tony's King wandered from f2 to a7(via a2!)then with mate on b7 Brodie put his Queen on b8 Tony grabbed it to win followed by a "discussion"!.In Rd 4 Mark Stokes "Blundered" a pawn( Mark's words) but this led to F file presure and an eventaul win to Mark.

June 17, Tonight saw the return of Gerard Akers and Matt Gilpin. With 11 players present the2009 Club Lightning Championship took place as a 10 player round robin tournament.
Defending his title from 2008, Mark Stokes had a stroke of luck when Tony Truscott missed Mark's flagfall and later with both flags down a draw was declared. Tony and Mark both finished with 7.5/9 to tie for fisrt place.

June 10. Final roud of the 2009 VGM, only 6 players present. One upset Shayne Hunter(-168) against Tony Weller. Brodie McClymont took 1st Place with 5/6 with Tony Truscott second 4.5/6

Our Labor Day weekender was won by Stephen Solomon 7/7 with 5 folowing on 5/5, there were 6 club members in the 37 entrants with 4 of them taking home a share of the Prize money.

April 22.the Fischer Rapid ended with Joint winners Brodie McClymont & Matthew Gilpin 5/6.Upset in rd 5 Matthew Gilpin(-232 points)against Tony Weller, Jordan Vico(-147)draw against P-J Bargo,Mark Stokes(-284)against Tony Truscott and Rd6 Matthew Gilpin(-144) against Mark Stokes.

April 15. Visitor Matthew Gilpin,occasional member Rohan Pyne and Brodie McClymont scored upset wins in rounds 2&3. Roahn had wins against M.Stokes(-577points) and Matt Gilpin(-333points):Matt won against Brodie Mcclymont(-117)points and Brodie won against Tony Truscott(-318 points).
We now have 3 joint leaders on 3/4,probable pairings for these next week are Rohan Pyne v Brodie McClymont and the other joint leader Matt Gilpin will be black against Mark Stokes(2/4)

One Absentee tonight but with Tony McR having to withdraw no one had to sit out the "Bye" and with Michael Szabo being unable to attend for 2 weeks the "bye" is taken care of for rounds 3 & 4.
No upsets in Rd 2 , although Brodie McClymont may have resigned too early against Mark Stoks (-50).
